Dispatch Temporary Operations Change

We are currently experiencing a staffing shortage in our Dispatch Center and are making the following temporary change:

On Saturday, February 10th, 2024, our Dispatch Center and lobby will be closed for a period of 48 hours; beginning on Saturday mornings at 6 AM and ending at 6 AM on Monday morning. This is a temporary change that will tentatively end on April 29th, 2024.

Our phone lines will be transferred to the Dane County Communications Center.

The biggest change for the public will be the Communications Center now answering all of our calls and there will be no DMV transactions on Saturdays.

We have concluded our hiring process to fill the vacancies and will return to regular 24/7/365 operations, tentatively, on April 29th, 2024.

Police Incident - Eisenhower Rd.

On August 21, 2023 at approximately 6:36 pm, the Stoughton Police Department and Stoughton EMS were dispatched to an address in the 900 block of Eisenhower Rd for a male with a gunshot wound. The Dane County Sheriff's Office sent deputies to assist at the scene as well. The male was pronounced dead on the scene by the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office. Witnesses to this incident have been interviewed by investigators, however the

Stoughton Police Department is asking that anyone who may have any additional information contact the Police Department non-emergency line 608-873-3374. Based on information

gathered at the scene, there is no threat to the community. This is an active investigation and therefore no further details are being released at this time.
